TRIP UPDATE July/10/07 TO July/18/07 Albacore, Tuna & Yellowtail Stay tuned for photos!!
|
Tuesday July 17th 2007
Yesterday we had a travel day. It was a little bumpy and choppy coming up the line. The passengers just relaxed and enjoyed a
fresh tuna sandwich and Ceasar salad for lunch and for dinner we were treated to crab stuffed chicken on rice with a black bean
sauce and grilled squash on the side. Really good. This morning we are still traveling and it is still bumpy. It looks like it is nicer up
above and we should have a nice afternoon and a few hours of fishing before we have to head in. We will be a the dock at 6:00
am Wednesday morning.
We have a last minute cancellation on our trip that departs tomorrow.
It is Don Fischbeck's annual 5 day charter. Give Susan or Don a call if you can get away and come fish
Tommy
PS. Hope You all had a great Christmas.
Monday July 16th 2007
Yesterday we hit the wahoo in the morning and had a steady tuna all day on 45 to 75 pounders. Weather was still great.
This morning we are heading up offshore to the albacore. Weather is ok.
Not a bad ride up so far. Chef Tommy kicked butt again yesterday with a seafood pasta for lunch (lobster, scallop, shrimp and
crab) and for dinner we had the classic steaks and baked potatoes. Very good.
Passengers are all having a ball. Crew too. It's been a very good trip.

Yesterday we had good fishing on wahoo in the morning and excellent fishing on tuna in the afternoon. The average weight on the
tuna ranged from 45-70 lbs. Our weather is still good. Chef Tommy put out some great meals again. Lunch yesterday was
yellowtail served over fresh spinach, surrounded by black beans with a spicy avocado cilantro sauce. And dinner was cornish
game hens topped with a spicy apricot sauce on wild rice with grilled asparagus on the side. Fishing this morning has started off
again with wahoo biting and this afternoon we will fish the tuna again. We still have some open spots on *Sept. 8th* an 8 day trip
if you want to come get some of these wahoo. Give Susan a call 619-390-7890.
Thanks for checking in.

Yesterday was an absolutely fantastic day. We had great yellowtail fishing on 30-40 lb grade with the big ones pushing 45 lbs.
In the afternoon we came across a big school of smaller grade yellowfin and released most of them. Weather is still flat clam and
gorgeous. We also got a handful of Dorado and saw a swordfish. Chef Tommy put out a great lunch of Alaskan King crab and
lobster, and for dinner we were served a slow roasted pork loin with roasted macadamia plum sauce.
Very delicious. This morning we are on our way to fish big tuna, and our weather is still fantastic. Thanks for tuning in.

Friday July 13th 2007
Well Friday the 13th is starting out to be a great day for us. We have flat calm beautiful weather and are pulling in lots of nice big
yellowtails. 40 pounders! There are also a lot of marlin all around us. Everyone is having a great time. We were treated to an
awesome dinner last night of rack of lamb with a Bordeaux reduction sauce. Our new chef, also named Tommy has been wowing
us with his culinary delights. He also made a lobster bisque that was simply the best. Well I have to get back on deck. There is
still a couple spots open on July 28th and August 2 has one spot. We'll call in tomorrow.

Thursday July 12th 2007
Good weather today as we traveling down south looking for wahoo, tuna and tails. Not much to report on the catching but that
should change shortly.

Wednesday July 11th 2007
Today was mostly a travel day. We check around for albacore but the fish were down. The wind picked up this afternoon but
we are good south so the ride is fine. This is our second day out on an eight day trip. So we have plenty of time to find the fish.
This trip is a Claim Jumper charter with only 16 anglers on board. What a great group of anglers we have on board this limited
load.
